From our eight clay tennis courts and six pickleball courts to the clubhouse bar & kitchen, we are building a year-round recreational landmark — and we are looking for people who take pride in the craft, the grounds, and the member experience.
Employee Expectations & Obligations
Working at Cold Spring Valley is a commitment to a standard. Every employee and club professional is responsible for upholding the traditions, safety, and hospitality that define the member experience.
Dress Code
All staff and club pros wear the club uniform: pressed navy or white polos with the club crest, khaki or navy bottoms, and clean, non-marking court footwear. Head pros wear crisp whites on court. No denim, open-toe shoes, or unbranded apparel on the grounds during operating hours. Name badges are worn at all times.
Greeting Members
Every member is greeted by name upon arrival. Acknowledge them at the gate or clubhouse door, offer to carry equipment, and confirm any court or lesson reservations. New members are introduced to staff and oriented to the facility. A warm, attentive welcome is the standard — not the exception.
Food & Beverage Awareness
All employees are expected to know the current weekly bar & kitchen specials, the members-only menu, and operating hours of the clubhouse kitchen. Inform members of new offerings and seasonal updates. Direct dietary questions to the kitchen lead; never guess on allergens.
Court Time Flow
Court reservations run on the hour. Pros confirm lesson start times five minutes prior. Staff manage the transition between bookings — call the next group to court two minutes before the hour, and keep the board current. Walk-on play fills open slots only after reserved blocks are honored. No court is held beyond its booked window.
Respect the Grounds
Walking on the grass banks surrounding the clay courts is strictly prohibited — it compacts the soil and damages drainage. Use the designated pathways and court entrances only. Pros and grounds staff set the example; members follow the staff lead. Report any surface damage to the facilities team immediately.
Club Pro Standards
Teaching professionals hold current PTR or USPTA certification, maintain a polished on-court presence, and arrive ten minutes before every lesson. Pros are ambassadors of the club both on and off the court — conduct, language, and sportsmanship reflect on the membership at all times.
Club Rules
Every employee is expected to know, model, and gently enforce these rules. They protect the courts, the membership, and the legacy of the club.
- 1Members and their guests only on the grounds; all guests must be signed in at the clubhouse.
- 2Proper tennis attire and non-marking shoes required on all courts at all times.
- 3No walking on the grass banks surrounding the clay courts — use designated pathways only.
- 4Court reservations are honored on the hour; no booking is held beyond its reserved window.

- 6Food and beverage from outside the club is not permitted on the courts or in the clubhouse dining area.
- 7Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests at all times.
- 8No profanity, abuse of staff, or unsportsmanlike conduct — toward players, pros, or employees — will be tolerated.
- 9Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult when not in a supervised program.
- 10Court lights are extinguished at the posted close of play; no play after hours.
- 11Pets are not permitted on the grounds, with the exception of registered service animals.
- 12Any damage to courts, nets, or clubhouse property must be reported to staff immediately.

Head Tennis Professional
Full-TimeLead the teaching program, manage junior and adult clinics, and oversee assistant pros. PTR/USPTA certification required.
Assistant Tennis Professional
Part-Time / SeasonalSupport clinics, private lessons, and court operations under the Head Pro. Playing ability and certification preferred.
Pickleball Instructor
Part-TimeGrow the pickleball program with beginner clinics and open-play supervision. PPR certification a plus.
Clubhouse Manager
Full-TimeOversee daily clubhouse operations, member services, events, and staff scheduling.
Front Desk & Member Services
Part-TimeGreet members, manage court reservations, and handle inquiries at the clubhouse desk.
Bar & Kitchen Staff
Part-Time / SeasonalPrepare and serve the weekly menu and members-only specials. Food handler certification required.
Grounds & Court Maintenance
Full-Time / SeasonalDaily clay court grooming, line marking, and surface care. Landscaping and drainage upkeep.
Facilities Handyperson
Full-TimeGeneral upkeep of the clubhouse, locker rooms, HVAC, electrical, and seasonal systems.
Seasonal Groundskeeper
SeasonalSupport the grounds team through the playing season with mowing, edging, and pathway care.
